Trauma Informed Practices *IN PERSON* facilitated by Michelle Levy – 8:30-2:30pm
Trauma-informed practices are designed to recognize and respond to the impact of trauma on students’ learning and behavior. This approach emphasizes creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters trust, empowerment, and resilience. Trauma-informed practices are educational approaches that prioritize safety, trust, and empowerment to support students affected by adverse experiences while shifting from punitive discipline to empathetic understanding. Participants will learn strategies like predictable routines, supportive instructional practices, restorative justice, and flexible, nurturing environments to reduce triggers, foster resilience, and address trauma’s impact on learning. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1 Consortium seat. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
